When you’re a cast member on a franchise as succesful as The Real Housewives, then there’s one thing the producers expect of you:
Bring the drama!
These 13 women lost their high-paying and even higher coveted posts on these shows because they were not relevant enough to remain with the show.
It’s harsh, but it’s true!
Katie Rost – The Real Housewives of Potomac
Rost lasted just one season on The Real Housewives of Potomac but she was fired ahead of the show’s second season.
“Sad to announce I will not be on #RHOP this season:-( Can’t make my life exciting enough. #DeliveredTomorrow,” she tweeted at the time of her firing.
Aviva Drescher – The Real Housewives of New York
Aviva’s two-season stint on the series was filled with controversy. From her father’s frisky nature with the other women to her flat out refusing to attend some events to attempt to secure a contract renewal, the producers did not take too kindly to her antics.
Gretchen Rossi – The Real Housewives of Orange County
Gretchen brought the drama for all of five minutes, yet she lasted four seasons. At the time of her “departure,” there were rumors that she was fired for being too boring. Rossi denied as much and even claimed she was getting her own series. Such a series has yet to materialize.
Kathryn Edwards – The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
Edwards had all of the makings for success on the series, mostly thanks to her association with O.J. Simpson, but viewers were not given much to work with.
Kristen Taekman – The Real Housewives of New York City
There is much debate about Kristen’s departure. It came following her husband’s account on ashley madison. While that would have served for a wild storyline, she did not return beyond her initial season.
Joyce Giraud – The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
Joyce failed to strike a chord with viewers during her one-season stint on RHOBH.
