Freshman Bella Fisher paced No. 13 Duxbury (1-1) with three goals, and senior captain Eugénie Rovegno embraced the challenge of face-guarding Ahern. The Dragons moved the ball well and generated quality looks, but they simply couldn’t bury them consistently.
Many of NDA’s shots stemmed from hustle plays and 50/50 balls, which pleased coach Meredith Frank.
“Coming up with them is not really tactical,” Frank said. “It’s more about the heart and the hustle. We did a good job at coming up with some extra possessions.”

Needham 12, Cohasset 9 — Senior Lexi Schmalz scored four goals and sophomore Grace Kelley added three for the Rockets (2-1).
North Andover 18, Haverhill 6 — Meghan Hurley (4 goals, 1 assist) and Michaela Downer (3 goals, 2 assists) provided the firepower for the Knights.
Norwell 17, Medfield 3 — Senior Annie Hilsinger (5 goals, 3 assists), senior Lily Warendorf (3 goals, 3 assists), and sophomore Allie Connerty (3 goals, 3 assists) paced the Clippers (3-0).
Arlington Catholic 8, Archbishop Williams 1 — Sophomore Adam Haytayan led the unbeaten Cougars to their third win, scoring three goals in the win over the Bishops (1-3).
Essex Tech 9, Northeast 3 — Sophomore Calvin Heline scored four goals and senior Christopher LeVie made 12 saves for the Hawks (1-1).
Franklin 20, Milford 1 — Junior attack Jake Davis (6 goals, 3 assists) led the Panthers (2-0) over the Scarlet Hawks (0-2) in Hockomock play.
Oliver Ames 19, Attleboro 5 — Hunter Costello (5 goals) led the Tigers, who also got hat tricks from Shane Kilkelly, Sandro Mascierelli, Sam Stevens, and Colin Bourne.
St. Mary’s 15, Cardinal Spellman 3 — Zac Barden had six goals and three assists for the Spartans.
Medfield 17, Millis 0 — Junior second baseman Max Goodman had four hits in five at-bats for the Warriors (2-0), while junior Drew Baacke allowed one hit over five innings and tallied seven strikeouts.
St. John’s Prep 2, Haverhill 1 — Junior outfielder Richie Williams drove in the winning run with an infield single in the bottom of the seventh in the season opener for both teams.
St. Sebastian’s 3, Dexter Southfield 1 — Senior starter Cole Tremblay got the win for the Arrows (5-0) with three scoreless innings of three-hit ball, and senior Joey Fiore got the save, allowing one hit in two innings. Senior Billy Seidel led the way for St. Sebastian’s, going 2 for 3 with a triple and a double, driving in a run, and scoring a run.
Westford 3, Greater Lawrence 0 — The Grey Ghosts (1-3) topped the Reggies (3-1) behind a standout performance by junior right-side hitter Timmy Ye (5 kills).
